Your church bulletin was made in Microsoft Publisher. What now?
Microsoft removed Publisher from Microsoft 365 in October 2026. If your office builds the weekly bulletin in Publisher, you have four good options.
Keep using an older copy for now
If your church bought Publisher 2016, 2019 or 2021 outright, it still opens your files. Microsoft no longer sends it security updates, and new computers will not come with it. That gives you time, but plan your move before the office computer is replaced.
Save every template as a PDF while you still can
In Publisher, choose File, then Export, then Create PDF/XPS Document. A PDF keeps the exact look of your bulletin, newsletter or certificate after Publisher is gone. It also gives anyone who rebuilds your template a perfect picture to work from.
Rebuild your bulletin in Word or Canva
Word and PowerPoint come with Microsoft 365, and Canva has a free plan. Expect to spend an afternoon rebuilding your layout. The first few weeks in a new program take longer, until the new template feels familiar.
Let Pew Press make it for you
Send us a PDF of a recent bulletin, and we will rebuild it as your template. From then on, you email us your announcements and order of worship by Wednesday. On Thursday you get a finished, print-ready bulletin, and you never open a design program again.
It costs $79 a month, with no contract.
